Chain O' Lakes State Park
April 28, 2018
Nine members and friends of Stockbridge Audubon Society endured four hours of cold, damp weather on Saturday at Chain O' Lakes State Park, before throwing in the towel and heading home shortly after lunch. But, before we shut the party down, we did manage to find a total of 42 species of birds. I guess the most notable of these may be a Northern Parula, a Red-breasted Nuthatch, and a good look at a nice Pine Warbler, but we also heard a pair of Barred Owls calling off of Trail 7, and Stephanie Wagner got a great look at a Broad-winged Hawk before meeting up with the rest of our gang. Lousy weather or not, it was still a great day to be out birding!
