Eagle Marsh
Week 1
Stockbridge Audubon decided not to schedule field trips this fall, with all the difficulties of carpooling, social distancing, etc. Instead, the field trip committee offered a list of suggestions, week by week, for birders to visit as they pleased. For the week of Aug 23- 29, the suggestion was for Eagle Marsh. Either at this suggestion or on their own volition, 21 birders visited the site during the week and found 51 species. These were gleaned from IN-BIRD-L and eBird postings. Of note were American Avocet, American White Pelican, and Wilson's Phalarope.
The suggested site for the coming week is Franke Park in Fort Wayne.
