Kingsbury FWA and Kankakee FWA

Weather management was very good for Stockbridge Audubon's first field trip of the year, if I do say so myself. Flood control, not so much. The intended target for the six of us coming from Ft Wayne was Kankakee FWA, but the turn from US 30 onto SR 39 was blocked. We decided to try Kingsbury FWA instead. We found the main road through the property closed, but we found a way around it, and had good luck at the grand marsh.
We wanted to try again for Kankakee, and found a way from the east along Toto Road. We could only go west past the headquarters about half a mile because of high water, but saw more Greater White-fronted Geese than I've ever seem there, along with good numbers of Snow Geese and a couple of Ross's Geese.
As a bonus, Andrew Wolfe got an alert of a Snowy Owl north of Kankakee, and, after navigating around more closed roads, found it a little east of its original location.
There were Sandhill Cranes just about everywhere, and we saw two large flocks of Wild Turkeys on the way over and another on the way home, for a total of 41 species for the trip.
