March 14, 2015   Kankakee State FWA

It was foggy at 7:30 AM; nevertheless, six birders turned out for Stockbridge Audubon's first field trip of the season.  Although much of the water was frozen, we got a good variety of waterfowl, though numbers were not high.  We stuck to the Starke County side, including the Headquarters area and Ten-mile Road.

Numbers below for the more ubquitous species are guesses -- who can keep track?

Kankakee State FWA, Starke, US-IN
32.0 mile(s)
Comments:     45-52 F, mostly sunny, moderate wind.  Still water mostly frozen; moving water open.
