March 19, 2016   Pigeon River FWA

Birder's,
Today I had the honor of co-leading a field trip of Pigeon River FWA for the Ft. Wayne Audubon. It was a cool breezy morning and slightly warmer afternoon. The nine of us had some great birds along the way. The bird individual totals are at times estimated within the lists. I tried to get the totals as close as possible. We had a total of 60 species for the day. The highlights included 15 Greater White-fronted Geese, multiple Pine Siskins and two female Purple Finch.
The checklists:

Spring migration seems to be right around the bend in Northeastern Indiana!
Go get the birds,
