March 30, 2014  Hurshtown and Cedarville Reservoirs

The Stockbridge Aududon field trip to Hurshtown Reservoir (H), Allen Co., attracted 9
birders on this warm and sunny afternoon. Once into the reservoir, we could see that
the southwest corner had some open water, though the rest was frozen. The limited
open water had good numbers and variety of ducks. We then had time to go to
Cedarville Reservoir (C), which is completely open and had quite a few water birds
also. Rodger Rang had stopped by Cedarville on the way to Hurshtown and had seen
two Great Egrets, but they were gone by the time the field trip got there, likely because
of canoe activity on the reservoir.
