Stockbridge Audubon completed its fall field trip season with a slow lap around Hurshtown Reservoir in northeast Allen County. It was a sunny, if rather cool day, with a light wind. The best bird was a basic-plumage RED-THROATED LOON, very rare away from the Lakefront. The field trip's 12 birders enjoyed good, if somewhat distant, looks of the bird floating in the water.
