November 2, 2013  Jasper-Pulaski

On a chilly, windy, cloudy day, five birders braved the elements for Stockbridge Audubon's field trip to J-P. The biggest surprise was the almost total lack of waterfowl, even though we walked the Marsh Observation Trail, where there are always waterfowl this time of year. We stayed, of course, for the late afternoon spectacle of gathering Sandhill Cranes. It seemed to me to be a little less spectacular than usual, but still a good show. - 26 species
