October 18, 2014 Eagle Marsh
It was chilly and windy this morning, with some threat of rain, but eight plucky birders gathered at Eagle Marsh for the Stockbridge Audubon field trip, led by Rodger Rang and me (Ed Powers). We started up Trail 6, the only trail that had a decent stretch that was not under water. When we reached a part of the trail that was under water, we clambered onto the levee along the creek to bypass it. Back down on the trail, we faced the choice of retracing over the rough levee path, or continuing to the footbridge and returning via the Pump Road and the Towpath Trail. The plucky consensus was to continue onward, resulting in a lengthy hike. We finished with a decent list, and just dodged the rain.
