Hurshtown Reservoir
October 28, 2018

Miserable weather and a paucity of birds made for a disappointing Stockbridge Audubon field trip to Hurshtown Reservoir today.  This time of year the reservoir usually has hundreds of geese, ducks, loons, grebes, and other water birds, of many species, plus a few others; today we had only 22 individuals, of 10 species.  The 12 observers who attended had traveled only about a quarter of the way around the three-mile loop encircling the reservoir when a heavy rain started, driven by a strong wind.  We hope for a better result for our next trip here in two weeks.
