September 14, 2013 Franke Park
The weather was cool, the sky clear, the wind calm, the 20 birders amiable and eager. The birding, however, was about as poor as it gets at Franke Park. We had only three warblers, and no sparrows. One bright spot was a late Summer Tanager. A few of us, at the end of the morning, entered Fort Wayne Chidren's Zoo and found the two Black-crowned Night-Herons that have been hanging around this summer.
